How do I run a database on an iPad 2?

I received an iPad 2 that I need to work a database on for simple business purposes. It needs to be simple. The only one I found is Filemaker at over $300. I found two open source database programs, LibreOffice and Open Office, but how do I make either of them work on an iPad?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

It is a great app. Dana 2014-01-01 20:56:44 Ultimately, until something better comes up, I am using Cellica, without the desktop portion. I made a template and am about 1/3 rd through the data input. However, on the list of records page, when I attempt to scroll over to the last information, it suddenly closes. This is a problem. How else can I view the info at a glance? Also, for daily observations I am using Evernote. It is not convenient to read through. I think Evernote Journal may work better. I just may go back to the good 'ol handwritten notebook...Of course, that would negate the purpose if the iPad altogether. Dana 2013-12-29 18:35:54 Thank you for taking the time to answer!I had a minute to look at the Bento replacements. Evernote might work, but I need to work mostly offline. I think that is premium, and that won't work. The Libre Office and Open Office were to be installed on the home computer to back up the iPad. I really don't want another program on my computer, though. All I need is a way to manage each animals treatment, and perhaps list them for easier daily reference. Also, we make extensive daily observations. I will have a look at the first three links, shortly, but I wanted my thanks known for the answers given. Try these database clients: Dana 2013-12-29 23:02:35 Wow. Some of these seem really powerful. The first one didn't open, and I couldn't find it when I searched. The second two look very promising. Thank you
