Pokemon GO Psychic Weakness is important to understand when you take part in high level EX Raid battles. All of the current EX Raid bosses are Psychic type, and Psychic type Pokemon in general are just very powerful. Here's what you need to know to defeat them.
Pokemon GO Psychic Weakness
Psychic type Pokemon are weak to Bug, Ghost and Dark type attacks.
Psychic type attacks are good against Fighting and Poison type Pokemon, so don't bring any of those to the fight.
However, Psychic type moves in Pokemon GO are especially resisted by Dark type Pokemon. This makes Tyranitar and Weavile good counters against powerful Psychic type Pokemon. They are also good against Flying type Pokemon, which are common at high levels.
The EX Raid Bosses are all Psychic type Pokemon. The current possible EX Raid Bosses are Mewtwo and the four Formes of Deoxys. These are all fifth level Bosses, and are quite challenging without the right counters.
Other Legendary Psychic type Pokemon you can encounter in level 5 Raids are Lugia, Latios, Latias, Cresselia, Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf. In lower tiers you can fight Espeon, Jinx, Claydol, Solrock, Lunatone, Metagross, Slowbro and Starmie.
The fact that Psychic type moves are rather ineffective against Dark type Pokemon makes countering them very simple. Most Legendary Pokemon in the franchise are Psychic type, so a good counter is a solid investment as Niantic updates the game with new Pokemon.
