Goal
Move all cards to the four foundations.
Deal & layout
The four aces are dealt to the four foundation piles. The rest of the cards are dealt to the tableau. Each of the 16 tableau piles is dealt 3 face-up cards.
Allowed moves
- The tableau is built down in suit.
- Only one card at a time can be moved.
- Empty spaces are not filled.
- If you are stuck, you can reshuffle the cards. You can do this twice per game.
- The foundations are built up in suit, from Ace to King.
Variants
Trefoil solitaire is an easier version of La Belle Lucie, which doesn’t start with the Aces on the foundation but otherwise follows the same rules.
