When was PUBG made? It's a complicated question. With all the early access, all the various platforms on which it appears, nailing down the PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS release date is something of a challenge. Here are all the answers in one place, definitively and conclusively arranged.
When Was PUBG Made?
PUBG PC
PUBG made its name first as a PC game. It was on that platform it became a gaming phenomenon, and from that platform it spring boarded to every other.
PUBG first released on PC through Steam's Early Access program March 23, 2017. The game was an immediate success, but remained in Early Access until finally releasing in 1.0 — leaving Early Access — Dec. 20, 2017. So, to summarize:

PUBG Xbox One
PUBG moved first to the Xbox One after taking the PC world by storm. Microsoft announced the platform expansion at E3 2017 as a timed console exclusivity. The game finally arrived on Xbox One in Game Preview on Dec. 12, 2017, eight days before the official PUBG PC 1.0 release.
Ten months later, PUBG Xbox One left Game Preview on Sept. 4, 2018.

PUBG Mobile
Ok, things here get even more confusing. There are technically two mobile versions of PUBG, both developed by internal divisions of Tencent Games. One is titled PUBG: Exhilarating Battlefield, and the other PUBG: Army Attack.
Over the course of the next month, PUBG: Exhilarating Battlefield made its way west beginning with a soft launch in Canada. Finally, a full English translation retitled PUBG Mobile arrived March 19, 2018.

PUBG PS4
Last but not least, PUBG hit the PlayStation 4. This release is the simplest by far, featuring a single title and no early access-type system to confuse everyone. PUBG landed on the PS4 Dec. 7, 2018.
